Webcast Artist – Vitus Wight
Webcast Appearance: Season 3: Dec 18, 2011 | Artist Website
by Lizzie Violet of Lipstik Indie, Staff Writer
Vitus Wight is a musical chameleon. He seamlessly moves from playing the type of blues you’d hear in a smoky 1930’s southern bar to 1970’s style protest rock songs. From his first song, all the way to his last, his haunting voice, a mix of equal parts Leonard Cohen and Tom Waites, holds you.
A journeyman himself and part of the Occupy movement, this heart felt passion can be heard in his songs. Through music he is able to portray to his listening audience, the emotions surely felt by those fighting to have their voices heard.
Not only is Vitus a great musician, he is a great story teller and watching him on Meghan Morrison’s Online Indie Jam was an absolute treat. Having him as a guest for the 75th show couldn’t have been a better choice.
